Faith Formation - Christian Education
The Christian faith is a life-long journey of growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ. One component of the growth in our faith comes from on-going education. We study God’s Word to hear what God has to say to us. We discuss God’s Word with others to gain the perspective and insights of others.
We offer Sunday School on Sunday mornings from 10:45-11:30 for children 3 years old through fifth grade. We are presently using a curriculum entitled “Spark”, which concentrates on biblical stories and at home connections.
Confirmation is a deep-seated tradition within the Lutheran church. Confirmation instruction focuses on the Bible and Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. At Lakeview, confirmation is for students in grades 6-8. Class meets on Wednesdays, September through May from 6:00-7:30.
On Sunday mornings, we have various studies at 10:45 in the Fellowship Hall. These sessions look at biblical texts and how they apply to faith development and engaging the world with God’s Grace.
Throughout the year we have special opportunities that present themselves. Members of community organizations, leaders in faith, and others share their stories, gifts, and passions as we together seek ways to put our faith into daily life. See either the calendar or newsletter for upcoming events.
